Above, Nick's 1980 Diesel-powered Scout II made the 14-hour trip to St. Louis from Monticello, MN. Here it makes it through one of the many deep mud pits along the 'Mud Trail'. Rain and damp conditions the week prior made for some interesting spots. Late in the day, the rain returned and trail conditions deteriorated rapidly. Fortunately, everyone made it back to camp without any major damage. Rain and a pile of wet firewood ended the thought of Saturday night camping. The group headed to town for a warm meal before we parted company and headed for the comfort of home.

3rd Anniversary Trail Ride & Campout November 2 & 3, 2002.

A great time and huge success! After a very chilly night of camping on Friday night, Jeff led 8 Scouts and 3 'others' through a maze of trails in the Mark Twain National Forest. This was a very organized and well attended trail ride. A special 'Hello' to Nick & John who drove in from Minnesota, and Mike who made the trip up from Kentucky! While stock vehicles made the trip relatively unharmed, body clearance and larger tires helped. Additionally, many trails were very tight! The variety of vehicle sizes and trail conditions illustrated the Scout's perfect size. While the Jeep's smaller size made snaking through the trees easier, the larger and wider Blazer K5, and longer Ranger pickup had a little more trouble sneaking through. But the Scout's combined the best of both worlds and performed perfectly. More cargo room and less bulk! "Scout: Anything less is just a car!"

3rd Annual Sunflower IH Family Reunion: Held October 11-14 in Junction City, KS was also a wonderful time. BSB members Terry & Rita Dishon did a fantastic job creating a family oriented, something-for-everyone, unique IH event. There were approximately 80 registrations of all types of IH vehicles and machinery. In addition, several new and used parts vendors were there. Also, there was a show 'n shine, poker run, RTI index, door prizes, games like the 'piston toss' and an 'unofficial' trip to the nearby Tuttle Creek OHV area. The weekend started with a small get together Friday evening in the brand-new Motel 6 (host hotel) parking lot among the several 'Binders parked there. The group headed to dinner at a local steak house, then returned to the 'lot for some IH talking and horsing around. Saturday morning was chilly and wet, but by 9am it the sun was out and the ground dried up. Despite a chill in the air the weather was perfect the rest of the weekend. The variety of models and their various conditions at the show couldn't have been better. The facilities were clean. Home-cooked meals were available all weekend long, on-site, and the festivities were concluded with live music on Sunday afternoon. All together BSB had several members present.
